Whitehead Light Station is located on Whitehead Island, approximately 8 miles southwest of Rockland, Maine, and 3 miles northeast of Tenant’s Harbor, directly off the coast from Spruce Head. The Emery’s Wharf parking and embarkation point is about a two-hour drive from Portland, Maine, and a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Boston. The station is also about 45 minutes south of Camden and 15 minutes from Rockland and Owl’s Head Airport. Detailed driving directions will be provided upon program registration. Whitehead Island is easily accessible by air from Portland Jetport (PWM) and Knox County Regional Airport (RKD) in Rockland, and is roughly four hours from Boston and 90 miles from Portland. Nearby towns include Camden, Thomaston, and Rockland.
