Join Mim Bird, master knitter, designer and popular local teacher, for our annual island knitting retreat. Mim will work with you to reach a personal goal. Whether you're a skilled knitter or a beginner, this is an opportunity to learn from and be inspired by your fellow knitters as well as one of Maine's highly accomplished fiber arts professionals.
As is true for all of our programs, this unique learning experience is enriched by the unparalleled beauty of Whitehead Island. Guests stay in the historic and elegant Light Keeper's House and are treated to delicious meals prepared with ingredients from Maine's Midcoast area.
Program Fees
Single Occupancy: $1,737.40
Double Occupancy: $1,475.80
Prices are per person and include tuition, lodging, all meals (sample menu), Maine state lodging tax, and boat transportation to the Light Station from our mainland base.
This course is full, but we encourage you to join the waitlist. Please do not send a deposit—we will contact you if a spot becomes available. If you have any questions, contact Gigi Lirot at info@whiteheadlightstation.org or (207) 200-7957.
Mim Bird has taught a vast array of classes from basic to advanced knitting and crocheting. Mim has participated in many Maine knitting adventures and she is ready to spend time helping with your creations. She can also help you with any other knitting questions on any project you wish to bring with you. This will be her fifth retreat on Whitehead and she says, "This is like my very own summer vacation. I have such a good time with the knitters in such a beautiful place. I can't wait to go back."
